MHE-Demag Keeps it Sweet and Simple
MHE-Demag installs cranes to ensure smooth daily operations in a sugar mill in Indonesia.
From general manufacturing to aerospace, MHE-Demag’s customised solutions have served a wide range of industries. One of their many customers include sugar mills, which require various machinery to ensure their processes can run without a hitch.
In Indonesia, MHE-Demag recently completed an installation of a double girder overhead travelling crane for PT. Perkebunan Nusantara XIV, Takalar Sugar Mill in South Sulawesi, Indonesia.
As the sugar mill relies heavily on the smooth running of the machinery to ensure their product is produced at the highest quality, MHE-Demag installed a 22m span crane with a 25t capacity to move sugarcane from the cane carrier to the mill.
Designed as a gantry, the double girder outdoor unit crane enables smooth handling of raw materials on a 24-hour basis daily. The MPW winch ensures a smooth and uninterrupted process at the mill, which is important to daily operations as any downtime can cost the sugar mill additional expenses. The crane boasts an inverter drive for the hoist – with a requirement of 15 cycles per hour, the local spectrum is classified as heavy, and is equipped with a 5m mechanism for lift and 4m for travel.
