Crane Performance Drives Customer’s Loyalty

MHE-Demag Singapore’s project team successfully handed over the second batch of overhead travelling cranes to PT Austin Engineering Indonesia, located in Batam Island in March 2013. Austin Engineering Group is a leading designer and manufacturer of customised dump truck bodies, buckets and ancillary products used in the mining industry. In the Batam plant, their main business is to fabricate water tanks, tyre handles and truck buckets for heavy trucks in the mining industry.

For this order, MHE-Demag Singapore delivered and installed three units of overhead travelling cranes with capacities of 50/20t, 25t and 15t respectively. This was a repeated order as the customer had engaged them in 2011 to supply and install six units of travelling cranes for the newly constructed factory in Kabil in Batam Island with a capacity of 15t to 50t. In total, MHE-Demag has installed nine units of overhead travelling cranes in the Batam plant.

The cranes were installed at various fabrication stations to support plate cutting, pressing, forming, surface treatment and lastly prepare the finished products for shipment. The cranes play a critical role in every fabrication process and must perform efficiently to support the production activities.
