A Touch of MHE-Demag in Each Honda Car

Located in Sunter, Jakarta, PT Astra Honda is a notable manufacturer of motorcycles for the Indonesian market. MHE-Demag Indonesia (MDI) was invited to share their expertise in assembly line operations with the Sunter Plant.

Prior to consulting with MDI, PT Astra Honda was using competitor equipment when changing die-casting moulds. Whilst the working conditions of the hoist required overhauling, purchasing a whole new unit would have involved spending substantial money and periods of downtime was unavoidable as the old hoist would have to be dismantled in order to install a new one.

PT Astra honda approached MDI to assist with this and the team proposed a feasible modification that would save both cost and time. The entire modification, which involved replacing and upgrading the hoist accessories, control panels and motors was completed on time.
