Ecologically Friendly Crane
MHE-Demag’s crane provides key support in government’s sewage recycling
MHE-Demag Singapore supplied a crane for the government’s sewage recycling programme, an initiative to implement proper waste management in Singapore and encourage companies to accept social responsibility and care for all stakeholders.
The company was required to deliver a crane that could withstand demands more than those placed on ordinary workshop cranes.
MHE-Demag installed a 6.3t double-girder which had a span of 10m and a 2.8t electro-hydraulic clamshell grab unit. It had a lifting height of 23m and was robust enough to work 24 hours every day. The crane’s function was to transfer the sewage waste (de-watered sludge paste weighing 1t/m3) into a processing system via a grab unit.
MHE-Demag’s sales engineer, Lawrence Hong said that the overhead travelling crane was able to meet the committed time cycle for waste handling, which in turn led to smooth handling of waste (and prevented blockage further down the line).
