MHE-Demag Philippines Celebrates 25 Years of Technical and Service Excellence
MHE-Demag Philippines shows appreciation for customers, suppliers and employees on silver anniversary
Established in 1990, MHE-Demag Philippines (MDP) recently celebrated its silver anniversary and most successful year to date. The celebration took place on 4 December 2015, which started with a customers and suppliers appreciation event during the day at the MHE-Demag Bicutan facility in Manila, attended by 100 guests. This was followed by an evening event dedicated to MHE-Demag employees, held at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati.
At the first event, customers and suppliers were hosted at an open house showcasing MHE-Demag facilities, equipment and many other products. Guests were given a chance to see various Aerial Platforms, Lift Trucks and Gondolas in operation, touch the equipment, and even take a ride in them.
In attendance were MHE-Demag’s top clients such as Philex Mining, Solid Cement, Makati Development Corporation, Lufthansa Technik, DATEM Construction, JG Summit, Megawide, and Universal Robina Corporation.
MDP’s President, Marc von Grabowski, and MHE-Demag Regional Managing Director, Karl Tilkorn presented loyal customers with tokens of appreciation. An award was also presented to the top supplier by Material Manager Mike Sanchez.
The customers and suppliers appreciation event ended with a plant tour by MDP Production Manager Lea Borja, who showed the different stages of building a crane to the guests in the MHE-Demag factory, providing them with special insights into MHE-Demag’s manufacturing processes.
In the evening, the celebration was attended by 200 employees and top management from the region, including Regional Director for Cranes and Components, Tarik Alkhalil; Regional Director for IPD, Jorgen Hansen; Regional Director, Joergen Moeller; Regional Director for Service, Kok Wai Law; and MDP’s former President (now of Jebsen & Jessen Offshore), Torben Christensen.
Apart from the different performers from each department providing entertainment for the night, the event also served as a farewell to Annie Amante-Duay, former Financial Controller and one of the pillars at MDP who had served the company for over 17 years. Tribute was also paid to Kok Wai Law, who as MDP’s president during 2011-2015 led MHE-Demag to secure major projects from Leighton and DDT Konstract (for Cranes and Components), and SM Development, City of Dreams and Solaire (for Building Maintenance Units), to name a few.
Today, the company has four branches outside Metro Manila and a major manufacturing facility, employing about 200 people.
