MHE-Demag Chosen to Be Part of SEF Space Hub
MHE-Demag will supply and install overhead cranes for the development of the building
MHE-Demag was recently selected to be the vendor to supply and install overheard cranes for the SEF Space Hub, an Integrated Construction and Precast Hub to be developed and built by the SEF Group.
The Space Hub is the first to be developed and built under a public tender by the Building and Construction Authority and is in line with the government’s effort to upgrade construction technology and minimise demand on construction labour. The five-storey space hub will be tasked to produce more than 100,000 cbm of precast components annually, three times more than a conventional precast yard.
The launch of the Space Hub was attended by the team that worked to win the selection process, Jeffrey Tan and Tan Aik Thian. The event was graced by the Senior Minister of State for National Development, Lee Yi Shyan.
“We are going to roll out more and more precast hubs. This is one of the dozens that are going to be rolled out and then built over the next few years. The outstanding feature of this project is that it brings together all existing technologies into one building such that the end result is a major capability upgrade for our construction industry,” Lee says.
