In the chemical and petrochemical industries, petrol and the emission of flammable gases and vapours such as acetylene, propane and hydrogen during manufacturing, processing, transporting and storage could form a potentially explosive mixture when in contact with oxygen in the atmosphere.

MHE-Demag offers a wide range of explosion proof equipment for such hazardous environments. Designed according to the latest European directive ATEX, each equipment bears the Ex mark and meets the 94/9/EC standards.

The brake motors, switchgear switching elements and electrical terminals are encased in a flame-proof enclosure designed and built in accordance with the CENELEC/EN 50.014-50.018.

:: Ex-proof chain blocks

Van Leusden ex-proof chain blocks are among the most versatile in the industry. It can be configured for normal, low and extremely low headroom. The trolleys range from 500kg to 20,000kg and higher capacity are available upon request. The SWL of the hoists operate within the capacities of 0.5t to 20t.
