These systems feature multiple conductors, typically copper strips, in an insulated enclosure. The current collector tracks are inside the enclosure, with the joining electric cable connected via an opening (slot) in the bottom of the enclosure. The bottom opening can be sealed with a neoprene sealing strip to keep debris and fumes out. The current collector is self-guided in these systems and only needs to be towed with a towing arm. Multiple copper conductors in an enclosure (aluminium or PVC housing). Available in 4 to 11 conductors and amperage capacities from 30 to 300+.

Our range of Vahle Powerail enclosed conductor systems covers several different configurations and numbers of conductors. Our new Powerail system KBH, together with our classics, KSL and MKL, form the group of "encapsulated" configurations. These are used mainly in the field of cranes. The PVC-enclosed Powerail conductor systems VKS, VKL and VKS 10 are used in storage and sorting technology primarily due to their flat configuration.
 
KSL Conductor Lines

KBSL, KSL and KSLT have been used successfully for many years and have been continuously improved and adapted in line with the latest state-of-the-art products. They are conductor lines in a rigid PVC housing with different copper cross sections for rated currents of 40-200 A. The current collectors, running in ball bearings, are guided by the housing. The mains power is transferred by spring-stored carbon brushes.
  • Type KBSL/KSL for indoor plants is manufactured in green plastic-housings for 4 and 5 poles. At up to 100 A we can supply the Powerail with plug-in joints. Otherwise, the sections are connected bolted joints. The KBSL comes without stiffener clamps.
  • Type KSLT for indoor and outdoor plants is manufactured in grey plastic-housings for 4 and 5 poles.
Compact arrangement, corrosion resistance and simple assembly are its essential features. The ranges of applications are overhead and elongated tracks for cranes, monorails, electric hoists, electric tools, stacking systems, as well as many other applications for supplying power to moving power loads.

KBH Conductor Lines

The KBH is a Powerail, protected from contact (IP 23), for indoor and outdoor plants. They are conductor lines in a rigid grey PVC housing with different copper cross sections for rated currents of 40-200 A. The current collectors, running in ball bearings, are guided by the housing. The mains power is transferred by spring-stored carbon brushes.
  • Type KBHF in 4 and 5 conductor configurations, with factory-mounted flat copper band and spring-operated plug connectors from 40 to 100 A.
  • Type KBHS in 4 and 5 conductor configuration, with factory-mounted flat copper band and screw connectors from 40 to 200 A.

MKL Enclosed Conductor System
 
MKL is a totally enclosed conductor system with 6-10 conductors, for indoor and outdoor use. The grey coloured housing can be supplied with different copper sections for ratings from 40-200 A. After installation of the PVC housing, the flat copper bars, which are supplied in coils, need to be pulled into the housing, using factory-supplied tools. MKL requires a minimum amount of space, is easy to install and cannot corrode. Typical applications are overhead cranes, monorails, hoists, storage and retrieval systems, power tools, lighting systems and many others.
 
 
 
 
Powerail VKS Conductor System
 
Powerail VKS is a space saving conductor system, designed to prevent accidental touch to regulations VDE 0470 part 1 (EN 60529). It consists of a flat PVC housing and pure copper or stainless steel conductors. The small amount of space required allows the system to be integrated into the crane or hoist track. Multipole systems with 3, 4 or 6 conductors are available and several housings can be easily combined to get as many conductors as required. VKS can be used for indoor and roof-over (rain-protected) applications. The system is designed for hoists, stacker cranes, monorails, machine tools, testing lines and many other types of mobile equipment. The PVC housing holds 3-6 conductors for power supply and control functions. Standard lengths are 6 m, plus specific lengths as required.
 
 VKS 10 Powerail Conductor System

VKS 10 is a compact, safe Powerail conductor system protected from contact in accordance with DIN VDE 0470 Part 1 (EN60529). It consists of a flat insulating housing, in which the conductor rails are held. This flat construction allows direct placement in half profiles and VAHLE carrier profiles. In connection with the newly developed HRL carrier profile, hanging distances of up to 4.5 m can be realised without expensive auxiliary structures. According to the phase configuration, in addition to the power supply, there are still 3-6 other conductors available for transmitting signal currents. In addition, the system permits the economical integration of various path-coding systems. With these properties, the VKS 10 system is superbly suited for automatic stackers. It is to be used only for indoor installations and for horizontal arrangements in straight tracks. The standard length is 6 m; shorter lengths are available.
